Southern Gulf NRM is a not-for-profit community organisation working through partnerships to
implement strategic planning and investment activities that care for our region’s natural and cultural assets.

UPDATE 12 JUNE 2020

Southern Gulf NRM and the COVID-19 Virus

Like every responsible organisation in Australia, Southern Gulf NRM must join the massive community effort underway to minimise the rate of spread of the COVID-19 virus.  This will disrupt elements of our work, but we are proud to be playing our part in keeping our community healthy.

We will constantly monitor and be guided by the direction and advice of government health departments and our regional local governments.  We will also respect and conform to the COVID-19 responses of our delivery partners and clients.

Click here for an updated message that summarises how Southern Gulf NRM will conduct its operations during the COVID-19 emergency.

Land Restoration Fund – Rebates for Professional Advice

Producers considering participating in carbon farming in Queensland have access to a support package to help them make informed decisions about their opportunities.

This is provided under the Queensland Government Land Restoration Fund.  https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/climate/climate-change/land-restoration-fund/2020-investment-round/support

One element of the support package is the availability of a rebate for professional advisory services.  This is administered by QRIDA http://www.qrida.qld.gov.au/current-programs/CFARP  Rebates are available only for advice provided by registered ‘approved advisors’ who are assessed to have the knowledge and qualifications to provide high quality advice.  The rebate program runs until June 2020.

Southern Gulf staff have registered as approved advisors under the program.  If you would like advice about agribusiness or environmental aspects of carbon farming please contact Kayler Plant on 4743 1888 to discuss your needs.
