Southern Gulf NRM would like to extend our sincere support to the community and landholders who have been impacted by the recent flooding event. We understand this has been an incredibly challenging time, and many of you are still focused on immediate recovery.
Southern Gulf NRM has supported the region through previous flood events, and our focus remains on supporting stakeholders as long term recovery begins.
We know many of you are focused on managing the immediate impacts of the flooding. If and when you have capacity, providing information will help build an accurate picture of what is happening on ground and support future recovery and investment.
We are seeking information from anyone who has been impacted by the flooding and has experienced natural asset damage. This may include photo observations of: erosion, riverbank damage, sediment movement, loss of vegetation, or other environmental impacts.
With the information provided, Southern Gulf NRM will collate a report to the Queensland and Federal Government of these effects, focusing on environmental damage.
Please note, infrastructure damage (such as fences, roads, and bridges) is being addressed through other funding programs and does not need to be reported.
