Feral Pig Reduction for Improved Wetland Health in the Southern Gulf Region

The project will work with 10 properties throughout the region to humanely destroy feral pigs, reducing pig numbers and their impacts on waterways. The project will improve wetland health across 50ha, with benefits extending over many more hundreds of hectares downstream. A detailed wetland health monitoring program, based on best available science, will measure the positive impacts of feral pig removal on wetland health, with the results shared with landholders and community to guide future on-ground works for wetland health.

This project is funded by Queensland Government’s Natural Resource Management Expansion Program.
