Years of responding to droughts and floods have drained the motivation of many community groups. Southern Gulf NRM will take proactive steps to engage with these groups to build or rebuild their capacity. This project will help groups improve volunteer management and recruitment, enhance communications (including social media and innovative ways to engage with members), and strengthen governance and financial management. The goal is to increase the resilience and motivation of local community groups.
The Community Facilitator will play a key role in fostering motivation among local people, group leaders, and members. This role will also connect individuals and groups to drought services, ensuring that community groups are well-coordinated with regional drought services. Additionally, the Community Facilitator will help connect community groups to each other, providing peer support and networking opportunities to enhance resilience across the region.
