The Climate Resilient Agriculture project in the Southern Gulf aims to enhance the capabilities of 100 landholders managing properties than 5,000 hectares on high or medium potential class land. This initiative focuses on implementing management practices that improve both land condition and profitability. The project seeks to encourage these landholders to adopt methods that lower emissions and bolster resilience against climate change, fostering initial awareness and generating sufficient interest for further action. Additionally, the project promotes increased knowledge among individual landholders, facilitating the adoption of sustainable natural resource management practices that safeguard natural capital and biodiversity.
This project is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture program and delivered by Southern Gulf NRM, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners Panel.
