 Outcome of Merger Proposal

At the 2019 Annual General Meeting in Cloncurry on 26 November, Southern Gulf NRM members considered a special resolution proposing that  Southern Gulf NRM merge with NQ Dry Tropics.

Members did not support the resolution so the merger will not proceed.

The Southern Gulf NRM Board will convene in the new year to begin development of an alternative strategy to ensure the company remains viable and effective in support of the Southern Gulf NRM community.

Whats in it for You?

With the goals of the E-Beef Project established, time to work out how it will happen.

Coordinator of the E-Beef Project, Andrew Burrows, explains how 2019 is the establishment phase of the Project. Andrew talks about the roll out over the three years and how the information and results of the project will be shared with other cattle producers.

The E-Beef Project is a partnership between Southern Gulf NRM, Desert Channels Queensland, Northern Gulf Resource Management Group and Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Funding for the Project is from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program and the Queensland Government Drought and Climate Adaptation Program.
