School environmental management plan (SEMP) development
A School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) is a plan developed by an individual school that includes a action plan for the school covering five focus areas: curriculum, teaching and learning, resource management, school grounds, whole-school planning and school community participation.
The Community Environmental Project Officer at Southern Gulf Catchments is quite happy to assist a school with the development and implementation of their SEMP.
Under the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative Queensland Department of Education and Training and the Commonwealth Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts developed an online SEMP builder for schools to register and develop a SEMP.
