Donald Coventry

Business Manager
Donald Coventry commenced as the Chief Executive Officer of Southern Gulf Catchments in August 2007. Donald has extensive experience in both the not for profit sector and the areas of communication, community and environmental management. Maree has been with Southern Gulf Catchments since January 2006, after working in Local Government for 8 years. Maree manages the finances and day to day running of the business.

Natalie commenced in January 2009 and provides the Board, management and staff with executive and administrative support. Natalie brings to the organisation an extensive background in local government and office management. Kate re-joined Southern Gulf Catchments in June 2007 as the Program Manager, which involves working with project staff to deliver the Regional Investment Strategy and reporting.

Cultural Heritage Coordinator

Charles has worked at Southern Gulf for 10 years in a range of roles. Now as Projects Coordinator, he is primarily implementing weed management programs across the region. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science (Forestry) from the University of Melbourne. Before moving to Queensland, he was employed as a forester for 24 years in Melbourne Water’s water supply catchments and prior to that in the Top End. Since commencing in late 2006, Tanya has been facilitating Southern Gulfs' Indigenous Cultural Heritage and Biodiversity Programs.

Simon has recently joined SGC from Longreach where he has been working as an Agribusiness consultant specialising in Property and Vegetation Management Plans. Simon has worked before in an NRM group in the Lake Eyre Basin, after many years in the grazing industry, and hopes that his knowledge and skills will be of assistance to Landholders throughout the region.

Jess commenced work at Southern Gulf Catchments in October 2009 to fill the newly established role of Project Support Officer. Jess will be providing assistance to project staff with delivery of projects, organising field days and running some small projects. 

Steven Cobbin

Steve has recently completed an Environmental Science Degree at James Cook University as a mature age student in Cairns. His studies included learning the fundamentals of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). This has provided the opportunity for Steve to become one of the latest team members of Southern Gulf Catchments as the new GIS Officer.
