 Donald (Don) Pollock's background has been in rural and natural resource science, research, extension and development, and regional economic development. Don holds the Bachelor of Applied Science (Rural Technology), University Qld, Gatton, and the Master of Rural Science, University New England, Armidale. He has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, in the implementation of initiatives, coordination and program development, and with outcomes measured by landholder uptake and practice change. Don is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology, Economic Development Australia, and Townsville Enterprise. Don's background has instilled a strong appreciation of the link between science, research and applied science. Maree has been with Southern Gulf Catchments since January 2006, after working in Local Government for 8 years. Maree manages the finances and day to day running of the business.

 As operations manager, Simone takes care of Southern Gulf's project management and reporting requirements. Prior to moving to the area in August 2010, Simone lived in Katherine in the NT and worked for the department of resources in various roles including beef extension and indigenous business development.  Victoria has recently joined the team at Southern Gulf Catchments after relocating from Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast Hinterland. With a strong background in senior administration roles, both in Australia and England, she will bring strong administrative support skills to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Jessica Ernst 

Community Environmental Project Officer
 
Charles has worked at Southern Gulf for 12 years in a range of roles. Now as Projects Coordinator, he is primarily implementing weed management programs across the region. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science (Forestry) from the University of Melbourne. Before moving to Queensland, he was employed as a forester for 24 years in Melbourne Water’s water supply catchments and prior to that in the Top End.  Jess has been with Southern Gulf Catchments since 2009 and recently filled the position of Community Environmental Project Officer. As a part of this role  Jess will be providing assistance to community groups in the delivery of Urban environmental projects, she will also be coordinating the Southern Gulf Catchments Sustainable Schools Program.

 Steve has recently completed an Environmental Science Degree at James Cook University as a mature age student in Cairns. His studies included learning the fundamentals of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Steve is now working within Southern Gulf Catchments  as the GIS Officer.

John has recently joined Southern Gulf Catchments as Project Officer, Sustainable Grazing. Prior to taking this role John has over 12 years experience working with various NRM groups, State agencies such as DERM, DEEDI, Local Government and Industry and various Landcare and community based NRM groups, John is passionate about sustainable grazing, climate change adaptation and mitigation.

 Larissa has recently been assigned the role of Project Support Officer. Prior to taking this role, Larissa has being working in a variety of workplaces including cattle stations, universities, not-for-profit organisations and small businesses. She is passionate about the rangelands and is especially interested in vertebrate pest management.
 

 Victoria has recently joined Southern Gulf Catchments after relocating from the Northern suburbs of Brisbane. After being assigned the role of Administration Project Officer she will be working closely with Business Manager Maree Berlin, assisting with finance tasks, while also providing support for all Project Officers.
